Mar. 27th, 2019 06:02 amTonight was a clean out and make food night.
Plus, Tuesday is $5 movie night. So, got up early to use mushrooms I bought on sale, tomato sauce I bought on sale, some canned chicken Dad bought... at some point?, and a can of chicken I bought today. I made a pretty good chicken tikka masala. Made my own garam masala spice mix (or sorta tried to) found out I was out of ginger or the ginger has been eaten by the kitchen clutter. Gotta work on that.
Using canned chicken was actually pretty nice. It broke down quick into the sauce and I packed everything up for work. I also finally opened a giant thing of plain yogurt I had in the fridge. Used a bit in the sauce, then used a small, wide mouth mason to mix some plain yogurt with two packs of Splenda and vanilla flavoring. It was super tasty. I think this means I can cheaply make yogurt that is sweetened and flavored and will be all right for nomming with no sugar. May add berries later when there are sales.
Trying to not eat anything with sugar. I'm giving myself one item of sugar a day. So, if I want ice cream, cool. Have that but not the soda later in the night.
While at the movie, the gasket in my water bottle popped out and I spent some frantic moments with a leaking bottle. It opens on both sides so I just held it upside down on the good end, then fixed it while in the bathroom later. It only had water, yay for not packing tea after all. How To Train Your Dragon was great though. <3
After the movie, we dropped by Kroger and found out rice was on sale. The microwave pre-packaged stuff was only a $1 so got some of that and may get more for quick food packing/eating. Had cheap bread I bought this morning so one meal (when I got in) over rice and one with bread. More left for later.
While at Kroger I also got more ginger. Which means my other jar of ginger will probably pop up later.
Not very exciting but that was my day.
